Weekend away in the mountains

This past weekend we headed up to the mountains with our friends Dustin and Erin for a relaxing get away...without kids. We did miss our babies, but we didn't quite know how to handle ourselves for 3 days, 2 nights without baby monitors, diaper bags, dirty diapers, sippy cups, toys, strollers....you get the point. We had a great time!! The first night, we headed to the Dillard House for dinner. The food was wonderful and the best part was that we got the "local" discount at 40% off. Can't beat that!! Here are some pictures outside the Dillard House.After dinner, we headed up to Sky Valley to site see and check out the waterfall up there. Here's one of my favorite pictures from the weekend so I had to post it even though it's out of focus.Back at the cabin, Jeremy is mapping out some adventures for the rest of the weekend.Dustin having a good ole time with his guitar...Erin and baby girl Mattox getting a snack...We found a nice little park beside Lake Burton for us to eat our "Oinkers" Bar-B-Q. I'm not going to mention how long it took us to find this park...due to my lost sense of direction...sorry guys! Anyway, when it was all said and done, we had a very nice sunset dinner by the water.On our way out Saturday morning, we had to stop by the Clayton Pharmacy to get a coke from their old time soda fountain. To our surprise, the pharmacy was celebrating their one year in their new building so they had these crazy cheap prices for cokes, ice cream, hot dogs, and hamburgers. If you know anything about Erin and myself and how we like to shop, this news was music to our ears and we all but danced in the middle of the store. $0.25 soda fountain drinks here we come!! We had a wonderful weekend full of site seeing, eating, antiquing, eating, playing the Nintendo wii, eating, playing guitar and singing, eating, playing some serious games of Phase 10, making homemade ice cream...and did I mention eating???
