Yes we are still building a house

So much work and time is going into building this house that so little time is left for blogging. I've just noticed in looking back that I've not posted anything new about the house in a while. Last I posted we had just gotten sheet rock up, now we're about three weeks from being done!!! YEAH!!! It's really been a fun process and we've learned so much about building a house, but I think we're over it. We're ready to get settled in our new house and get our life back :) Below is a glimpse of the past few months.
Painting our new sheet rock...
We purchased a sprayer to use on the walls since we were doing all the painting ourselves. We thought this would save us lots of time, but instead it used WAY too much of our paint. After using an entire 5 gallon bucket of primer just to prime the master bath, we QUICKLY changed our plan to rolling the entire house. Yes, I did say rolling the ENTIRE house. This has taken us FOREVER and we're still not totally done. Many thanks to those who have helped us with this task.
Kitchen wall looking into the dining room.My RED dining room! The flash changes the color a little, but this room is called cinnamon cherry.Daddy, I can help you build the porches...Here, do you need this piece of wood?? Oooo, it's "HEABY"!!Jeremy's dad came down and spent the week with us while Jeremy was out on fall break and helped us SO MUCH!!! While he was here that week they got all the porch hand rails and pickets done, steps off the front and back of the house, steps in the garage, ALL of the trim in the house (base boards, crown molding, window and door trim) and they hung all of the interior doors. I guess we were all so busy I failed to take any pictures that week. Back porch all ready for screen and hand rails down the steps Here's Jeremy building our step treads for the upstairs.
Our fireplace and mantle that was cut off the property. Yep, that was one of our pine trees that we cleared to build the house....well part of a pine tree anyway. Our cabinets!! I think this is my favorite thing!! I love my cabinets, the guys did such a great job.Tile in the laundry
Master bath tile
More to come hopefully in the next few days. I've just got to remember to take the camera while we're out working.

Your new home is beautiful! I love the wrap around porch on the front and the fireplace. And I love the shower in the master bath! In our new house, our stand up shower in the master is a very small one, and I don't fit in there anymore so I've been using the guest bath! I know you must be so proud that you've been able to do so much of the work yourselves - it's worth it!
