Trick or Treat

I've got to tell you all that Ethan was not very happy about his costume this year. This was a selfish year for mommy. I decided that this was probably the last year that I got to choose what Ethan was for Halloween. Next year he'll probably want to be some super hero, so I chose him to be a cute, cuddly lion this year. It took some persuading for him to wear his costume, but once he knew candy was involved, it wasn't too bad. He learned to say "trick or treat"and "candy" and then he would get candy in his pumpkin. Here's a few pictures that captured our Halloween this year.
Just not too sure about this costume, practice run at home
"trick or treat" Okay mommy, is that good?? Can I have some candy now??Before lunch on Halloween, we went around town to make some visits. First stop was Nana at the bank. She was dressed for a luau and so were all of her coworkers. Ethan got his first experience of "trick or treating" here. He went around to the different departments and got some candy. After we left the bank, we went to visit Grammy at her school. Ethan was quite the little lion cub there. He put on a show for Grammy's students. She stood him up on a desk and asked him what the lions says...he bravely let out his lion roar and all the kids laughed. What a little ham!!Now for the real thing...it was time to head out in the neighborhood for some trick or treating. Our church didn't do the trunk or treat this year so we stayed home and hit up a few houses of people we knew in our subdivision. We went out a little early to visit some family close by but they were all at church. Our wagon sure was handy for trick or treating!! I think daddy tried to get in with Ethan a few times. Nana came over to walk the neighborhood with us and our friends Josh and Kelly (they just live a few houses down) They dressed their dogs for Halloween:)
Trick or Treat!! He actually requested something red at this house :)
AND he got it!! A red mini tootsie roll pop!!! Just wanted to share a few pictures of our cozy lion cub.

Ha! Ha! Ha! He's so adorable in that outfit. Ha! He's going to look back and be like, "Mah-ahm! You dressed me up like a lion!" Ha! And you're going to say, "Of course I did! You were simply too irresistible and cute!!" How could one pass up an opportunity like that? I love it! I also love the fact that he asked for something "red." Man Kimberly, he's really growing up if he's asking for something in a specific color. I hate that we can't be near each other to watch our babes grow up. Thanks for sharing!! What a precious, handsome boy you have!!

Well, I don't know who's more selfish - me or you! I decided that Mason was still a little too young to really understand that it was Halloween so he didn't have a costume, and we didn't go trick-or-treating! Fact of the matter was that I get so tired by 3:00 it's hard to make it through the rest of the day! So he watched a Charlie Brown pumpkin cartoon!

What a cutie! Nathan's brother's think we were abusive parents by dressing Sarah up in a ladybug costume. ...but hey- the pics are worth it for now, right? Your house looks like it is really coming together. It's going to be beautiful!
