Visit To Alabama

We got to sneak away for Labor Day weekend and make a very overdue trip to Alabama to visit with Jeremy's grandparents (Mema & Papa, pronounced Pawpaw). We had a great visit and they really got to see how much Ethan has changed...and how much he is SAYING!! Our little boy is a motor mouth:) He now repeats about everything that we say. We'll be in the kitchen and he'll be playing in the living room, not even thinking that he's listening to us and he'll pick up on one word or sentence from us and just repeat it(he's now saying 4-5 word sentences). Needless to say, he entertained Mema and Papa the whole weekend.
Papa teaching Ethan about the "little piggy that went to the market"I'm not sure what they are all looking at but it must have been fascinating. Jeremy doing something crazy I'm sure. Reading books with Mema

Sunday after church, Mema really wanted to take Ethan to the mall to ride the merry-go-round. We rode in Mema and Papa's car and we didn't even think about not having our stroller until we were inside the mall. Luckily, Mema had a ride of her own!! Ethan thought he was big stuff riding on Mema's walker.

Checking out his horse, making sure it was very sturdy before he turned loose.
Okay, feeling pretty good...ready to ride
Oh yeah!! I'm a big boy riding my own horse!Just chilling out with Mema after a busy day at the mall. This is rare, Ethan doesn't just chill out...he's just too busy and always on the go.After a busy weekend, he gave in on the ride home. Tuckered out!! This one was just too precious not to post. Why can't I have those eyelashes??
As far as the house goes...not too much new this week. Just trying to pass inspections. Boy...the codes that you have to meet to build a house can be irritating at times. We've decided it's a good way for the county to make extra money because when you don't pass an inspection, you have to get whatever it is fixed and then pay to have another inspection done. Our framing inspection did not pass because ONE WINDOW in our house wasn't meeting their "egress code"...blah blah blah, whatever that is. When you open this window, the opening is ONE inch too short and ONE inch too narrow. Doesn't matter that it's PLENTY OF ROOM FOR ANYONE TO GET IN OR OUT...It's a total of 2 inches too small. The window is 15 feet off the ground, no one's going to be going in or out of that window...BUT we've got to cut something out of the window sash, only for Jeremy to have to put it back in after we meet code and pass our inspection. SO...now that this has held us up a whole week if not a week and a half, we'd like to get on with our house. We have someone coming first of next week to do insulation and then hopefully we'll get started with drywall before the week is out. I did get my cabinets finalized on Thursday so that was one task complete. They'll start building them now and they should be ready in about 4 weeks. I'm very excited about my cabinets!! Thanks for checking in on us and our crazy busy lives :)
Until next time...

We enjoyed your two posts. The car washing one was a hoot! I also like seeing Ethan in the walker--I'm sure they enjoyed your visit!
